California Dreamin'

's been two days since the major snowstorm that has hit New York in the last fifteen years and even I do not recover.

neighborhood of Manhattan is a semi-dirty snow and slush. Brooklyn, an avalanche. And Queens ... who knows how to be Queens.

California Dreamin '

Whenever I'm caught, I think of California.
not the California of today, of course, destroyed by fires and floods, in bankruptcy, with reality TV star and a governor who barely speaks English. No.

never rains in California MI, oranges and "herbs" are of this size, everyone takes martinis poolside treats Robert Evans of "Bob", Richard Nixon of "Dick" and when they are not closing lucrative contracts for shows produced by Aaron Spelling kill the hours walking along the beach in Malibu in huge white cashmere sweaters as Robert Redford and Barbra Streisand wore, gloriously, in this masterpiece of California Dreamin 'is' The Way We Were. "

Mmm,
memories ... I remember the rain hitting the roof at the home of the Queen of my childhood, the hot stove and fresh dish. But what I remember most about those afternoons are the blue eyes of Burt Bacharach promising a clear sky from the cover of his album "Futures" and the whispering voice of Dionne Warwick, suggesting the way to San Jose.

My love for this city ambitious, glamorous and intellectually arrogant called New York is unconditional. But, my love, why you gotta be so cold sometimes?

In these days of the iceberg I think of you, California: blond, golden, athletic and frivolous. The perfect lover.

I think that little bungalow in the Hollywood Hills or the cabin off the coast of Malibu never rented. In the script for Michael Sarrazin Valerie Perrine and I never wrote. In those lunches at the Polo Lounge Jacqueline never shared with Susan and Dominick Dunne. In those sunsets I have ever seen, parked in metallic blue convertible that I never had, anxious face a future that never sought and that, therefore, never came.

Like all memories, my California remains frozen somewhere in the 70's, completely unrealistic and ridiculously vivid as those first few seconds after a dream.
According to my computer are 4:23 pm and from my window I can see the red sun about to disappear on the white mountain walls in New York.

The silence is total. Or almost total.

The Future is in the Star!

Always looking for new business opportunities, Middle Silence presents its new and exciting service futurology , astrology and card reading.

The program is open to all readers of the site monthly payment of $ 20, a figure that in a may seem high but, they say the stars will seem entirely justified, after becoming familiar with our work.

For a sample, without charge, here are our predictions for the Hollywood romantic 2011.

Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez, says the Oracle, strengthen their romance sparked protests from Al Gore and environmental groups, who blame the couple of alarming warming in parts of Greenland and Antarctic swells in the Bering Strait, the vast Amazonian drought, and sudden changes in the route of migratory birds in the northern hemisphere.

Halle's former boyfriend and father of her daughter, Gabriel Aubrey, will continue his passionate relationship with Kim Kardashian, but, according to letters, this will a tragic end when Aubrey, who has a delicate, almost ethereal beauty, would be crushed by the formidable, very exposed and widely acclaimed "derriere" of the Kardashian in a particularly passionate night during filming of the reality of the diva, "Keeping Up with the Kardashians. " The incident cause an intense debate in the United States about the limits of privacy, the power of censorship, and the type of hybrid gene can produce anatomy as that of Kim.

At age 30, Jake Gyllenhall put an end to rumors about his sexuality because of her romance with Taylor Swift, the quasi-teen pop icon . The couple is often seen in cafes and restaurants in Brooklyn, and "Us Weekly", we believe, an article published in March which will ensure that the lovers are looking for a house in that neighborhood to share. By the time summer arrives, however, the romance is history. Jake will be back in June discovered by photographers jogging down the streets of West Hollywood along with Matthew McConaghey, both shirtless and ens horts of lycra, and in September, Taylor will release her new single, "I Hate You" (I Hate You ), whose lyrics - "I Hate You, I Hate You, I Hate You, La, La, La" - be inspired "by a man who broke my heart", as explained in an interview published this month in "Vanity Fair" .

The Prize Winner of the Academy, Sandra Bullock-(that's his legal name from last year: Winner of Academy Award Sandra Bullock), will exceed the 2011 full horror of 2010 with sentimental his co-star in "Gravity", George Clooney. In the film, which begins shooting in May, the pair plays the only survivors of an interplanetary mission shipwrecked in space, both required to protect each other, support each other, and wear those tight uniforms required of any actor Hollywood be sent to the galaxy.

The news of the affair, which coincides with round promotion of the film awards season in American cinema 2011-2012, destroy the hopes of thousands of scooters, macho, neo-Nazis who dream of occupying the place left by the scooter, macho, neo-Nazi Jesse James former husband of Sandra in the heart of the actress. George Clooney To this may be his most serious relationship since the death of his pet pig in 2008.

Prince William of England and his new girlfriend, Kate Middleton, will be married next April and for at least a few weeks the world can claim that we live in a place where the biggest conflict is whether the color of the dress of the bride should be defined as oyster or ivory.

Our crystal ball tells us that the wedding will be a success and that the couple will be happy for a long time, although there by September, the Daily Mirror in England and "Us Weekly" published in U.S. its cover a very unflattering picture of the new princess to the show with his face, contorted and somewhat furrowed. "Kate:" I will not be another Diana '", titled The Mirror. "Kate Middleton: the terrible loneliness of a Princess" is the title chosen by "People".

The photo will be discovered later, had been captured at the outlet of a famous dentist's office in Chelsea, where Kate had received that day to a root canal.

Middle Silence has been contacted by Interpol, the FBI, the CIA, the State Department, the office of Vladimir Putin, the analyst Christina Kirchner, nurse Muammar Gaddafi and two officials in WikiLeaks for help to discover the whereabouts of Julian Assange, International Man of Mystery. We

LUTHERAN CHURCH OF PUERTO MONTT

Land Act that enabled the German colony from Valdivia to Puerto Montt stated that immigrants should be Catholic in order to avoid "religious interference." However, Bernardo Philippi warns the government it is difficult to meet this point, having found greater acceptance among Lutherans. Therefore, able to modify the disability and dated May 28, 1850 in Recruiting Colonists Instructions can be read in the first article: "As you can worship assure settlers who want to come to settle in Chile there is a complete tolerance, and freedom of private belief and individual be as safe for them as it is now for all foreigners in the country without professing the Catholic religion. "
-called Protestants or Lutherans, as part of the German Evangelical Church, from the beginning of Melipulli were organized to exercise their religion. The first attempt to form a Lutheran parish originated in 1858 when Rudolph Philippi visit Puerto Montt, on this trip Dr. Franz Fonck and Federico Oelckers trader will seek help for that purpose. But they could not muster the necessary number designed to ensure the salary of the pastor.
At the end of 1862, the Consul of the Crown in our city, sent a letter to the government Prussia where he states: "the local Protestant pastor requested," and added that this would benefit some eight hundred souls. That same year, the emerging towns of Lake Llanquihue Puerto Montt and Chamiza more join the parish of Osorno, and together, asking the Supreme Consistory Berlin Evangelical sending a cleric. For this reason, the May 23, 1865 landed in Valparaiso Alfred Tysska who had been hired for five years, must live for six months and thereafter Osorno Puerto Montt. The first Protestant church service puertomontinos held in a warehouse.
Three years later the pastor Tysska, for health reasons, returns to Germany was replaced by Franz Renz who got a seat at the end of an alley Antonio Varas street that bordered the hill (today Diagonal Germany) and proceeded to build a church. When the temple was ready, a fire consumed it completely (30/octubre/1871) and the particular are two hypotheses. One of them said that the culprit was a young German Catholic who had his unsound mind, at that time said he suffered from "mental weakness." For his part, Mayor of Llanquihue informed the government that "candles left burning" after a ceremony had provoked the incident.

news
known German communities, and especially professionals working in the salt industry, made donations for the rebuilding of the temple, but the board decided to build a school leaving a room for religious purposes.
On August 9, 1873 the new pastor Alfred Forney delivered his first sermon in the building of the German school. This religion had a short stay in our city was forced to resign by questioning the morality of his wife. Following the incident the Lutheran community in Germany wrote: "... our reputation has suffered greatly from the Catholic population and can only recover if we receive as soon as possible a new and vigorous shepherd our flock in danger of disbanding. However, the board continued to work and the January 9, 1879 is recognized by the Government of Chile the Statutes of the German Evangelical Parish of Puerto Montt.
In 1881 Pastor Friedrich Beckmann hires who stay ten years in the making by an outstanding apostolate. Since Germany will send 1500 francs (1889) to begin construction of a large modern church. For his part, Dr. Carlos Martin organizes a campaign to collect financial contributions achieving more thousand marks for the completion of the temple. On this same date, the churches of the lake is separated from Puerto Montt and Heinrich Schweden pastor comes among his duties is serving the communities of Puerto Montt, Puerto Varas and road Chamiza. In addition to assuming the post of director of the German school, Schweden opened the first kindergarten in our city. Diagonal

Para this date the German community had achieved great economic and social prosperity which was not difficult to acquire land in Baquedano Street and build a modern complex that housed a chapel, meeting hall and parsonage. What To Wear With Camel Boots

You Will be Out

José Miguel Villouta, a popular Chilean radio announcer, a young, gay, and thousands of followers in the country, appeared this week in an interview with Paula recommending young people go into the closet homosexual.

Exit out of it, he said, was "very hard."

Go you for a moment and lock yourself in a closet, to see how it goes.

is a narrow, claustrophobic and suffocating. If not a little light filters can also be frighteningly dark, a place where it is impossible to recognize even the silhouette of your own hands, perfect for hide and be alone.
But who wants to be hidden and only life?

In recent months the U.S. has been a series of tragic news about bullying and suicide among gay teens, a theme that hangs like a heavy rock in my heart and had not known until now how to play.

Well, Mr. Villouta gave me a good evening with your comment.

Being openly gay has its risks, no doubt. Villouta
account in his interview how a family moved from table to a restaurant for not completing sitting next to him and his partner. And although the episode may be humbling, I've heard stories worse.

There is the lawyer who saw his brilliant career disappear in a storm of comments and rumors in his office or the student who was expelled from his home by parents who never returned to speak to, or the man who could not be with his family in his last days in the hospital, because nobody knew who had spent more than a decade together.

Yes, there are stories. More than I'd like remember.

As a teenager in the 70's Chile was not used out of the closet. One implied that he had a natural order which determined that a gay child would be tortured during his school years, live a semi ostracism in college, and then, hopefully, find shelter in a comfortable existence where everything-alone Birthday funerals, great romances a painful break-serious lived behind closed doors.

As in a closet.

In those days there were no gay people on the radio or television.
The closest was Don Francisco, the nation's leading animator, who tore laughter every Saturday among viewers with jumps, breaks hand and fluttering of eyelashes that were part of his famous imitation of a man, "unusual."

There was nothing worse than being "weird", and therefore were not a few parents from time to time, and jokingly warning, claimed it was better to have "a child thief fag."

Add to that other indignities of adolescence, pimples, bad grades, cruel jokes, own goals, and you also be tempted to run to the closet and shut and locked inside.

But things have changed since then.

Today there are many openly gay men and women in the country, many of them, as Villouta, with an enviable platform from which to speak to others, especially younger teens especially gay.

can not forget, we can not, I should say that someone out there is listening.

In America, the stars of Modern Family Barack Obama President currently appearing in "It Gets Better", a series of videos dedicated to gay youth with the promise that, whatever the hell they are living for now things will improve in the future.

is a beautiful promise. An important promise. And, better yet, a real promise.

Things get better with time, I know from personal experience.

So put on your sunglasses, open the door and go and enjoy the light.

And if one day you meet someone who runs away from him because you are gay, as happened to Villouta, politely say goodbye and wish good luck. The will need. Homophobia always runs with a pack of prejudices, and those who rarely feel sleep in peace. Too many weird people on the street. Too much diversity.
Soon they struggle to find a place to feel comfortable and safe. A dark lonely place where ruminate their bad times.

May we suggest a closet?

A Classic Ford

During the last Fashion Week in New York, Tom Ford closed the gates of a fabulous townhouse on the Upper East Side and in complete privacy, compared to only 100 people, and one photographer present - Terry Richardson showed his first women's collection in years.

The show became the great commentary all week, partly because of its air of mystery, and partly because his army of "models" included legendary stars such as Marisa Berenson, Beyonce and Lauren Hutton, each wearing a costume inspired by his own style.

What was that night.

imagine.

Ford, which nobody would ever blame a populist, not understand the hysteria and haste of fashion nowadays. While other designers show their fashion shows simultaneously on the gateway and the Internet, complete collections put just a click away, and do not give a stitch of thread without announcing in Twitter or Facebook, he, Martini in hand, invariably white shirt open to the sternum, giving their time.

Elitism seems an admirable quality and grown with great enthusiasm. Would be easier to see Pamela Anderson became Pope, which Ford created a collection for the "pocket sensible" for the clients of H & M or The Gap.

After months of anxiety, of fashionistas 3,909,876,980,543,000,000,000 (Minus the 100 who were present at the parade), finally able to enjoy this new collection in the pages of-what else? - Vogue.

Here it is.

Course of García Hurtado de Mendoza between Osorno and Reloncaví Breast Puerto Montt

The following is a study by the historian puertomontino César Sánchez Vera, member and Director of the CEPH, about a subject that for years has been recognized by historians and researchers in different positions.

This time, as Don César Sánchez personal issues its opinion on the subject, after analyzing various references.

In a forthcoming publication we will present the opinion of another researcher at our institution, which differs markedly from the position of Mr. Sanchez.

COURSE OF HURTADO DE MENDOZA GARCIA OSORNO BETWEEN AND WITHIN Reloncaví

By: César Sánchez V. INTRODUCTION

The trip by the Governor of Chile Don Garcia Hurtado de Mendoza, with the aim of reaching the Strait of Magellan raised many hypotheses as to its course. This draft adds new data based on the English chroniclers. SPANISH CHRONICLERS

Governor walked here on their journey and arrived at the lake ( Llanquihue ) where he became the Governor Don Pedro de Valdivia (1552). "Then came the Governor and as ordered from switching, and people went canoeing and swimming horses. Passing the Governor this river, walked three days of very large mountains and marshes and missteps could barely walk. After three days at sea resulted in a large bay ( within Reloncaví ) reaching to the mountain snow. From here he sent the Governor Julian Gutierrez Altamirano canoes with people in certain they were going to an island ( Guar ) that looked great above all others, which found highly populated and many cattle and corn and potatoes. Seeing this became the leader.
"land is well populated and people of good appearance, are dressed in wool. The language is slightly different. Their weapons are spears and slingshots and darts (arrows ). They differ only in the suit from head to others, who bring a hat so well done and hairy wool woven with a cloth and headdress, and above get a bead. These usually these hats that I seem to bring much water the rain. It is a land populated by large forests and swamps and good forests.

"CHRONICLE OF THE KINGDOM OF CHILE"

Author: Peter Marino de Lovera
Chapter X

"Longing for the discovery of new lands passed on without stopping a lot in this town ( Valdivia). And having reached a large lake near the coast where it enters a river ( Maullín ) very mighty Purailla called, walked by with her people looking for way to move forward in their attempt prosecusión.
"Having crossed the river with difficulties were fed whet trace paths on the mountain with axes and machetes who had, in doing so at the expense of hurting their blood at every step in the bushes and shrubs, and large reservoirs and streams from water without first piece of land that was not much pestilence quagmire. For this reason were more than foot soldiers and not a few barefoot shedding blood and getting bruises, he was sorry to see them, without the excuse to walk through the mud and water some distance from this path. "
" More like they saw that all was in this way, cast to see who was tangled Indian guide, who had tangled in that grove, because they reached their land. And understood this betrayal sent Don Garcia to do justice to chief named Orompello, and other Indians who guided them, leaving the English for that Arcabuco their adventures without knowing where or to fate, to come to a beach in the archipelago ( Reloncaví Bay) there are, where they arrived on the second Sunday of Lent, for which regard he named the archipelago of Cananea.
"this archipelago has more than eighty leagues district, the islands were then heavily populated Indians who were engaged in fisheries and livestock breeding. And for the cold earth are dressed in more sheltered than others in the kingdom, bringing shorts and shirts instead of coats and a very fine wool cape and hat of the same material, but in the way pulled something in caps . And while the English saw an unwillingness to move forward with all that was offered the captain to this case the lawyer Julian Gutierrez Altamirano and courageous knight, and wished much employed in the service of His Majesty in any business of importance according to the purpose and direction of Don Garcia. With licensed and company of people who gave for it, he embarked with some soldiers in the canoes musketeers that they were sufficient, in which they went three days and nights between the great dangers of shoals and storms suffering all this for only taking notice of what was in these islands. And not having anything else out of the relationship, and news of them don García tried to turn, then another way in which land was settled, until he reached the dewatering of the lake, we have said in order to populate a city on the site more appropriate than in the entire district is ".
" he went on his way to a rushing river of Canoes ( Rahue ), where I had gone when he came to this leaving discovery he lost all his dishes, which was on a mule, who drowned in this way, unable to take off a piece della so that was the loss of large amounts of money. After this the Canoas River Don Garcia settled his field near the shore, and thinking peaceful site, and supplied as necessary, determined to found a village there, and so they made it a work entitled the city of Osorno, a contemplation of his grandfather, Count of Osorno have already fulfilled the obligation he had to his father in the town of Cañete de la Frontera which was the first established in these realms. FUNDOSA this city of Osorno in the levo of Chauracaví, in 27 days of March 1558. Is abundant land of bread and meat, and very gifted of honey, which occurs in great abundance without care benefit hives, and no force is smaller fruit of Spain, who is caught with both hands, as you each, there is no one to contradict him. "

(NOTE: The parentheses in italics were placed by César Sánchez for a better understanding of the text.) CHRONOLOGY

: Arrival at the Chauracaví levo (plains of Osorno) giving for the founding of the city of Osorno on March 27, 1588.

IN WHAT PLACE IS GOING TO ISSUE Reloncaví Bay?

that regard there are several theories which have strong arguments, namely: 1 .-

Pelluco HIGH: rolling hills high enough to appreciate the full extent within Reloncaví. From here, Julián Gutiérrez Altamirano would have admitted to Lenca and from there it goes to the islands of Maillén and Guar, meeting with an advanced riders near Calbuco. 2 .-
Panitao HIGH : rolling hills high enough to appreciate the full extent within Reloncaví. Julian Gutierrez Altamirano had landed in Guar Puluqui and Calbuco. 3 .-
Carelmapu : From the hill the Picuta can distinguish much of the Chacao channel and islands to the east. Julian Gutierrez Altamirano would have run Calbuco Puluqui and Guar; Alonso de Ercilla while crossing the drain (Chacao channel).

FOUNDATION OF ARRIVAL TO HIGH Pelluco

February 20 issue Maullín crosses the river and begin the difficulties in advance, "never with such nuisance to humans / wanted to keep out the Natura ... or boulders meantime and marsh / mixed weeds and undergrowth so "(Alonso de Ercilla) also describes" the tall trees that make the skies as sovereign. "
Bibar Jerome wrote: "Passing the Governor this river (Maullín) walked three days of very large forests and swamps and missteps that could hardly walk. " For its part, the chronicler Pedro Mariño de Lobera said: "Having passed the river were fed difficulties whet trace paths on the mountain with axes and machetes ... and from carrying large marshes and streams of water without having piece of land that was muddy. "

Descriptions are within the province of Llanquihue and Alonso de Ercilla adds, walk "on his way to the west the sun is to say that since the river took the lead Maullín SE which brings us to the top of Pelluco . The expedition camped in Chamiza or Stone Blue beaches is recorded as "stony and rocky" and Ercilla again nos da una referencia “…se comenzó a marchar por la ribera…y andada una gran legua, hicimos el primer alojamiento”.
Unable to move on, to enter the lake (within Reloncaví) inland to the great mountain range that say snow (the Andes), sent in some canoes that there are, a captain with the other soldiers to go part. " Were promptly as described it would be the entrance to Estuary Ralún now cove Arena. Ready
the departure of Julian Gutierrez Altamirano, bringing to Alonso de Ercilla latter states: "we had the right southbound ... but as we won the distance / large archipelago was the widening / finding a distances diverted / populated islands in large numbers" . This means Lenca or creek that from Arena to make the south are the islands mentioned. Consequently
: Julián Gutiérrez Altamirano Guar around the island, touching the coast of Puluqui Huelmo and write the famous octave: "Here was where another has not come / don Alonso de Ercilla, the first / in a small boat ballasting / with only ten passed the drain .... "

In late September 1558, ie seven months after the issuance of García Hurtado de Mendoza Cortes Ojea came to the Bay of Ancud. In the Chacao channel took a current, tide took them four leagues in, there the sailor tells us: "... Of which we knew, Indian land, we knew what they say as they came through the land six months ago Christians who arrived in two days it was possible that there a call and another call Velgueante Cutegüe and who had curaca spoken with the Cabi said his name was Tanpelqui and that there had not arrived nor was there but that they heard him say, including some Christians among them named Lieutenant Altamirano. Congratualtion For Marriage

It's a Bird, It's a Plane...It's a watermelon!

In a generous gesture of helping the community, Middle Silent following is a breath of fresh air in the claustrophobia of Wednesday afternoon .

The breeze in question comes from the wings of Anna Dello Russo, stylist, former fashion director of Vogue Japan, which in recent times, with a boldness that would have less civilized days side the head, has taken the focus of Anna Wintour as the most photographed woman in the front row of the collections in Paris or Milan.

And when it comes to wings, we do not as lyrical or poetic, but literal.

The Dello Russo, as you will see in these photographs taken by Juergen Teller for the latest edition of the magazine "W" (The Art Issue), is fond of bird's wings, which often installed with the nobility of a condor on his shoulders when out on the street.

That's not all.

is not uncommon to see her walking along the Via Montenapoleone and the Faubourg St. Honore with a pair of giant cherry on head. Or a watermelon. Or a lobster-shaped hat.

can be 10 in the morning and there she is, ready for a new day, in an evening gown of Peter Dundas to Pucci skirt or a huge "ballerina" by Oscar de la Renta, gold shoes, leather vest, and larger and excessive jewelry that you found in your toilet.

But before making any hasty trial, listen to their reasons.

Everything has an explanation.

The Dello Russo loves the clothes at night (who does not?), But with so much closet to organize and to maintain-shoe has a second apartment in his building in Milan that serves as cabinet-and energy- in free fall now that is over 40, do not have time or inclination to visit clubs, discos or attend galas.

What do I do? Hmmm ...

His solution is in sight and has proven to be a gift not only for photographers stationed at the entrance of a European fashion show, but for everyone, especially for the rest of us, locked in the gray world of the day day, looking to the sky to see if a bird with black wings finally breaks the boredom of mid-afternoon
